Welcome to Faround ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Faround (the "Service").

2. Information we collect

We only collect data that is necessary to provide you with our dating service, authenticate your account, and ensure platform safety.

A. Information provided directly by you

• Account Credentials: Email address, display name, and Google User ID (sub) obtained via Google Sign-In.
• Profile Information: Date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, preferences, country, city, bio text, and up to 6 profile photographs.
• Chat Messages: Text messages exchanged between matched users.
• Support & Safety Records: Reports, complaints, and block lists you submit.

B. Information collected automatically

• Device & Push Tokens: Expo Push Notification tokens to send you match and message alerts.
• Ad Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (GAID) collected via Google AdMob (subject to your consent where required by law).

C. Data we do not collect

• We do not collect or track your precise GPS coordinates.
• We do not collect IP location history or track location changes.
• We do not access your device contact list, calendar, or full photo gallery (we only access photos you explicitly select via the system Photo Picker).

3. Special categories of data (GDPR Art. 9)

By filling out your profile attributes (gender preferences, sexual orientation, kinks, and interests), you explicitly consent to the processing of these special categories of personal data for the purpose of matching you with other users.

You can modify this information at any time within your profile settings. Complete removal of these attributes from the platform is executed by deleting your account as described in Section 7.

4. How we use your information

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

• To provide the Service: Creating your account, displaying your profile to users in the same city/country, sorting matches by interest compatibility, and facilitating text chats.
• Platform Moderation & Safety: Automatically checking uploaded profile images for adult/NSFW content using automated cloud tools to enforce community standards.
• Notifications: Sending push alerts for new matches and chat messages.
• Advertising: Displaying advertisements via Google AdMob (non-personalized by default, or personalized with your explicit consent).

5. Third-party processors & data transfers

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information with trusted third-party service providers solely to operate our infrastructure and enforce safety:

• Google Cloud & Firebase (Google LLC, USA): Hosting, database storage (Firestore), file storage (Cloud Storage), user authentication, and cloud functions.
• Google Cloud Vision API (Google LLC, USA): Automated image processing to detect adult/explicit content (SafeSearch).
• Google AdMob & UMP (Google LLC, USA): In-app advertisement delivery and consent management for users in the European Economic Area (EEA).
• Expo (60 Hertz Inc., USA): Delivering push notifications to your mobile device.
• Discord (Discord Inc., USA): Internal staff notifications about in-app safety reports and automated content quarantines. Users do not submit reports through Discord.

International data transfers

Our servers and cloud services are located in the United States. When transferring data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to the US, we rely on Google's Data Processing Addendum (DPA) incorporating Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

6. Content moderation & automated decision making

To maintain a safe environment, all uploaded profile photos are processed by Google Cloud Vision API (SafeSearch). Photos flagged as containing explicit adult content (LIKELY or VERY_LIKELY) will be automatically rejected. If you believe your photo was incorrectly rejected, you may appeal by contacting us at farounddate@gmail.com.

7. Data retention & account deletion

Hard deletion

You can delete your account at any time within the application settings. Upon account deletion, we perform a hard delete of your profile, photos, matches, chat messages, and authentication credentials.

Residual retention for abuse prevention

In accordance with GDPR Art. 17(3)(e) and legitimate legal interests, we retain a limited record of blocked user email addresses and safety report logs after account deletion. This prevents banned or abusive users from immediately recreating accounts to harass others.

8. Your rights under GDPR / CCPA

Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Rectification: Update or correct incomplete or inaccurate data via profile settings.
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Delete your account and associated data.
• Right to Object / Restrict Processing: Object to direct marketing or withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time via the consent menu.

9. Age restriction (18+)

Faround is strictly intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we discover that a user under 18 has created an account, we will immediately delete their profile and associated data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and posting a notification in the app where appropriate.
